THE PRELIMINARIES
By submission of a CD only. No DVD, please. CD must be recorded with an accompanist. CD and application must be postmarked by Monday, January 23, 2012.
CD will not be returned. Finalists will be notified by mail by February 13, 2012.
THE FINALS
Friday, March 2, 2012
The Finalists will perform a live audition with a piano accompanist at Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University. The First prize winner will perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra during 2012-13 season in an education or outreach concert. The scheduling for the performance and the repertory will be determined by the PSO management.

First prize $500 and a performance with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
Second prize $200
Third prize $100
Age Category and Requirements
- 18 years and under
- Must not have graduated from high school.
- Memorization is required
- Required Piece: One movement from standard concerto repertory. Double or triple concerti are allowed
- Accompanist required
- Audition time: 10 minutes
- Registration fee is not refundable
